LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE OF CLAIMS, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT

I acknowledge that participation in the Grand Lake Retreat involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical activities, breathwork, bodywork, and energy work
- Outdoor activities in a mountain environment
- Potential exposure to natural elements and terrain hazards
- Emotional and psychological processes that may arise during intensive therapeutic work
- Travel to and from the retreat location
I understand that these activities carry the risk of injury, illness, property damage, or other harm, and I voluntarily assume all such risks.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Grand Lake Retreat, I hereby:
1. RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS the following parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising from or related to my participation in the retreat:
- Thrive Counseling Group, LLC
- Megan Ness (individually)
- Christi Matens (individually)
- Mountain Lake Vista, LLC (property owner)
- All agents, employees, contractors, and representatives of the above entities
2. INDEMNIFY AND DEFEND the above-named parties against any claims, lawsuits, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from my participation in the retreat or any actions I take during the retreat.
3. WAIVE any right to sue or make claims against the released parties for any injury, damage, loss, or harm I may suffer, regardless of whether such injury, damage, loss, or harm is caused by negligence or other fault of the released parties.
MEDICAL CONSENT AND RESPONSIBILITY
I represent that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in retreat activities. I consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or require medical attention during the retreat. I understand that the retreat organizers are not obligated to provide medical treatment, and I am solely responsible for all costs of any medical treatment I may require.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation Terms:
- Cancellations made 60 days or more before the retreat start date: All deposits and payments will be transferred to a future retreat offering
- Cancellations made less than 60 days before the retreat start date: All deposits and payments are non-refundable
- No exceptions to this policy can be made for any reason, including but not limited to illness, injury, family emergency, or travel complications
TRAVEL INSURANCE RECOMMENDATION
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND that all participants purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes:
- Trip cancellation coverage
- Medical emergency coverage
- Coverage for flight and travel expenses
- Coverage for retreat costs in case of illness, injury, or emergency
Travel insurance can protect you from financial loss due to unexpected circumstances beyond our control. The retreat organizers are not responsible for any additional costs you may incur, including airfare, accommodations, or other travel expenses.
GENERAL TERMS
- I understand that the retreat involves intensive therapeutic work and is not a substitute for ongoing medical or psychological care
- I acknowledge that results from retreat participation cannot be guaranteed
- I agree to follow all retreat guidelines and instructions provided by facilitators
- I understand that disruptive behavior may result in removal from the retreat without refund
- This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Colorado
- If any provision of this agreement is found invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
I have read and fully understand this Liability Waiver, Release of Claims, and Indemnity Agreement. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue. I acknowledge that I am signing this agreement freely and voluntarily, and intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
